We have had no volunteers joining us in developing our Food in School Policy so instead we will be holding a consultation event on Thursday 5th October 2017 2.30 - 3.15 p.m. We would love you to get involved in making decisions about food at Linden Road Academy.

We will be looking at:

  • The Department for Education School Food Standards.
  • Our proposed policy on reducing the high fat, high sugar and high salt content of many of our packed lunches.
  • How to work with parents to ensure that chlildren have an healthy and varied diet.

DID YOU KNOW?

Our research in school has shown there is a direct link between those students who bring in unhealthy packed lunches and their poorer attainment, development and learning behaviours.

In fact it was startling how high fat, high salt and high sugar packed lunches affect a child's ability to learn as well as their overall health.

Please come along to work with us to help our students have healthy diets and lifestyles.

If you would like to participate in the consultation but are unable to attend please share your comments with Mrs. Cooper, Pastoral Manager at rachel.cooper@lindenroadacademy.co.uk or on 0161 320 0002  before Friday 6th October 2017.

Thank you, we look forward to working with you.
